Beautiful Tortoise Island
Tortoise Island is located in Satellite Beach Florida.
Tortoise Island was the first island community developed in Brevard County located on the east bank of the Banana River. 

Tortoise Island is conveniently located between two major causeways. Tortoise Island is approximately 4 miles north of Eau Gallie and 1.5 Miles south of the Pineda Causeway. Orlando airport is approx. 55 minutes. drive and Melbourne airport is approx. 15-20 minuets from Tortoise Island. Just to the north is The Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral communities and to the south Is Indianatlantic and Melbourne Beach communities. You can watch the Shuttle and rockets launches from your own property in Tortoise Island and surrounding areas.

 Tortoise Island was developed as a luxury waterfront community on 210 acres of island. Tortoise Island was planned for 343 homes, most of which are Navigable waterfront, some lake and pond front with a few dry lots. Tortoise Island is just about fully developed now, only a few lots are undeveloped. The community has a Club house/ meeting center and recreational facilities that include:
Tennis Courts, Boat Ramp (Most homes have there own dock), Exercise Room, Saunas, Community Pool (though most homes have their own pool) and a toddlers play ground.

The homes are generally built on one of the 3 major water ways through or around the Island.

The Banana River:

Is the western side of the island with magnificent wide water views for the most part and incredible sunsets. The Inner Canal:

Is a deep water boating canal homes all have their own docks mainly capable for Sail or Motor, some frequent visitors to the Canal are Manatee, Dolphins, Osprey, Herons Pelicans and Ducks. Great fishing from all the waterways, which have a wide variety of fish species.

The Grand Canal:

Is the widest canal and many homes have Boat houses and Docks. This to as deep water and presents no obstacle for larger boats. Dolphins and Manatee are frequent visitors along the Grand Canal. From Grand canal homes you get some pretty spectacular sunrises. The Grand Canal as the only draw bridge on the island, to allow boats passage. This bridge is of cause is the only bridge that all traffic going onto or off the island as to use
